Most Egyptian travelers and visitors can receive a visa for admission at any entrance ports. To obtain your immigration visa, all people entering in Egypt should have a valid passport (with a minimum of 6 months remaining before expiry). However, immigration visas can also be acquired from Egyptian Diplomatic and Consular Missions overseas or from the Travel Documents, Immigration and Nationality Administration (TDINA) passport office in Egypt (for expansion or renovation) at the Mogamma building in Tahrir squire in Cairo city centre.

There are Egyptian Visa kinds:

Residence Visa: is required for any individual who arrives in Egypt for reasons other than tourism, such as job, research, etc. Possession of a valid immigration visa is required to finish the Egyptian residential process.

Tourist Visa: is generally applicable on single or multiple registration sites for a duration not exceeding one month.

  • Egypt Entry Visa is only applicable for journey within three months from the date of issue and is only applicable for one-month residence in Egypt, starting on the date of entry.
  • If you have a reason to extend your visit, you can do that from Egypt’s Ministry of Interior Affairs after stating the explanations and accepting them for that purpose.

Foreign Passport Egyptian:

After stating evidence of Egyptian citizenship (such as an Egyptian passport, private or family identity card or birth certificate), any Egyptian national holding a foreign passport will be given a courtesy visa to an Egyptian spouse after stating evidence of marriage.

How Tourists Get an Airport Visa:

The Egyptian visa is simply a stamp (like a mail or post stamp) that you can purchase from the visa office located in the entrance hall, just before the immigration booth; you can’t miss it! Only $25 USD cost the visa stamp. You just click on your passport on an unused section. It’s so easy, don’t care! Once you’ve purchased your visa, you’re in line to get the immigration officer to stamp your passport.

Useful tip:

Use the chance to swap money when you purchase your passport on entry!
Visitors who visit Egypt at the Taba boundary crossing, the Aqaba shore and the St. Catherine’s Gulf can be exempted from visas and are given a free 14-day passport to visit Egypt.
In Egypt those who have a residency license shall not receive a visa to enter if they leave the nation, or within six months, whichever time limit is less, and return to it.
